Company Program FAQ's
What is the Company Program?
Our Company Program is a more structured and committed training program designed for dancers who are looking to grow at an accelerated pace. It provides additional performance opportunities, focused training, and a team-based environment where dancers build both technical skills and confidence.
What is the goal of the Company Program?
The goal of the Company Program is to help dancers reach their full potential through consistent training, discipline, and performance experience. Dancers develop strong technique, work ethic, teamwork, and confidence - skills that benefit them both inside and outside of dance.
Who is the Company Program for?
The program is ideal for dancers who:
-
Show a strong interest and passion for dance
-
Are ready for a higher level of commitment
-
Enjoy being part of a team environment
-
Are motivated to improve and take correction
For our younger dancers, readiness is based more on behavior, focus, and ability to follow instruction than technical ability.
I have a young child (age 4-6) who loves to dance. Are they ready for Company?
At this young age, readiness for the Company Program is less about dance technique and more about classroom behavior, independence, and overall maturity.
Dancers who are ready typically:
-
Are able to separate from their parent comfortably
-
Listen to the teacher and follow directions
-
Stay engaged and participate throughout the class
-
Can take turns and work well in a group setting
-
Show respect for teachers and classmates
-
Are able to stay on task with minimal redirection
We also look for dancers who are excited to be in class, eager to learn, and willing to try new things - even if they don’t get it right the first time. The Company Program introduces a more structured environment, so having these foundational skills helps ensure that dancers feel confident, successful, and ready to be part of a team. At this age, building positive habits, confidence, and a love for dance is the most important foundation for future growth.
Is this a competitive program?
No, the Company Program itself is not a competitive program. However, dancers who are selected for our Competitive Teams are required to be enrolled in the Company Program, as it provides the technical foundation, training, and structure needed to support their competitive experience.
How is placement determined?
Placement is based on a combination of:
-
Technical ability
-
Performance quality
-
Work ethic and attitude
-
Focus and behavior (especially for younger dancers)
Our goal is to place each dancer where they will be challenged while still feeling confident and supported.
What is the time commitment?
Company dancers are required to attend:
-
Weekly technique classes
-
Company rehearsals
-
Additional required classes based on placement
Attendance and consistency are very important, as each class functions as part of a team preparing for performances.
Are there performance opportunities?
Yes! Company dancers perform in the annual Company Spring Showcase.
What is expected from Company dancers?
Company dancers are expected to:
-
Attend all required classes and rehearsals
-
Come prepared and ready to work
-
Maintain a positive attitude
-
Be respectful to teachers and teammates
-
Take corrections and apply them
We emphasize responsibility, teamwork, and commitment.
What is expected from parents?

-
Support consistent attendance
-

-
Communicate with the studio when needed
-

A strong parent support system helps dancers succeed.

-
More intensive and focused training
-
A team-based structure
-
Required classes
-
A higher level of commitment and accountability
What if my dancer is unsure about the commitment?
We understand that this is a big decision. The Company Program is best suited for dancers who are ready to prioritize dance as one of their main extracurricular activities. If you’re unsure, we’re always happy to help guide you based on your dancer’s goals and readiness.
